Artist's Description

Universal purveyor of an electric waffle iron making use of the "Cooking Utensil" patent of inventor Alpheus O. Hurxthal. The UNIVERSAL made by Landers Frary & Clark of New Britain Connecticut produces a 7 inch diameter waffle. The ubiquitous and easily made flapjack or pancake, long a staple with bacon and eggs in the American homemaker's kitchen, had a new rival for the top of the breakfast menu. This new kitchen utensil for the home became wildly popular. In the 1930s and for years after, along with the electric toaster, the waffle iron became the wedding gift de jour.

About Robert J Sadler

Robert J Sadler

I chanced onto Fine Art America just as I was looking to create art-prints of some of my photographic work I had been displaying on my author's website [http://robertjsadler.com/]. And thanks to FAA's incredible shopping cart widget I am now able to offer my FAA images directly with my readers as well as direct customers to my personal FAA artist's website. I am pleased to display these images on FAA and I am glad they caught your attention among the millions of stunning images from other FAA member's.
