If you spent much time in a Greek fraternity you most likely were required to learn and recite the Greek alphabet. Trying to learn the names of these similar and dissimilar symbols would not seem difficult at first blush. However the symbols representing the Greek alphabet are every bit as difficult to master as when you first learned your "ABCs". To assist in ingraining this new mnemonic a little illuminating help was often used. The task being to be able to recite the Greek alphabet, correctly, in order before the match burned your fingers. Proficiency was determined how many times you could correctly recite the Greek alphabet on a single match. Ergo the poster's meme: "Learning the Greek alphabet one match at a time."
I chanced onto Fine Art America just as I was looking to create art-prints of some of my photographic work I had been displaying on my author's website [http://robertjsadler.com/]. And thanks to FAA's incredible shopping cart widget I am now able to offer my FAA images directly with my readers as well as direct customers to my personal FAA artist's website. I am pleased to display these images on FAA and I am glad they caught your attention among the millions of stunning images from other FAA member's.
