Artist's Description

The colors of New Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada are something to behold. The vibrant colors of New Mexico depicted here in this enhanced photo taken in 1995 of the Taos Pueblo seem incongruent, until you have experienced the New Mexico landscape with your own eyes. The sunsets, particularly, impart colors and color combinations that intrigue and play with your mind. I brought this sensibility into the Taos Pueblo.

The Taos Pueblo, just north of the town of Taos, has existed as an inhabited site for ten centuries.

As the welcome sign says: "The Red Willow People of Taos Pueblo welcome visitors as they have for over 1000 years. To visit the living village is to walk into a sacred place where life continues from the earliest of human existence. Little has changed here in the high desert village."
