Artist's Description
Replicating and repeating the Hemet Stone Maze pattern. Rediscovered in 1914 this maze-like petroglyph is located near Hemet California. Thus it’s colloquial name: The Hemet Maze Stone. The maker is unknown. It is said to have been created perhaps over five hundred years ago… circa 1400-1300 AD.
By contrast Taos Pueblo, home of the Puebloan people, is the United States’ oldest (over 1,000 years) continuously inhabited site.
